April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball player from the United States, is among a select group of women who have won medals in several Olympics. Alix Klineman, taking part for the very first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games, will try to earn her third medal. More than that though Ross will be aiming for her first Olympic gold. This may be the last chance she'll ever have to do so at the age of 39. She's certain that the top prizes can be achieved. Ross was born in 1982, and grew up within Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began participating in athletics at Newport Harbor High school. Along with competing in various sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. Her pre-athletic career comprised indoor volleyball, as well as basketball, running and track. But she stood out during this game. When she played in her time at the high school level as per her college biography she played as an outside-hitter, middle-blocker and setter. In recognition of her work, she was honored as the 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her due to her volleyball skills. Ross and Klineman started their relationship in 2017 but Ross has been a beach celebrity for a long time prior to. She actually won numerous major events using two partners, one of which is an icon of volleyball. The pair teamed along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as Klineman's coach. Kessy was Ross's teammate at the World Championships of 2009. The duo eventually captured a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends that won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, took each other to take home the gold. Ross Jennings was May-Treanor's replacement when she retired. Both went on to win the bronze beach volleyball medal in the Rio Olympics in 2016 along with Walsh Jennings. Ross played for the Trojans of USC in her college prior to becoming a professional. Her time at USC was a memorable one. In 2000, as a freshman Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. In 2000, her Trojans made it to the Final Four. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss in her sophomore year however she was able to return as an All-American. Through her two final years of participation in the Trojans team, she led them to a national title each year. Ross was an excellent volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the top female volleyball player in the NCAA. Ross studied international relations at USC. Margie Ross was not able to see Ross become the highest beach volleyball stage. Ross suffered the loss of the breast cancer that she battled in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. This meant that Ross remains close to her deceased parent. Margie, on the beach as well as in her everyday life, continues to inspire her.
